Driving Directions to ALL Farms

Please note:

• Departure time for carpooling/caravan from UConn Health Center Hospital Entrance at 5:00 p.m. sharp. The medical student coordinators can be reached at 860/202-4512.
• Directions to the UConn Health Center and a Campus Map can be found at http://www.uchc.edu/directions/home.html.
• To get to the hospital entrance, follow the main road until there is a split in which you will bear left. Continue to follow that road until you come to a toll booth. Go straight through the toll booth and into the main entrance circle and find parking if you plan to carpool with others. You may be asked to help load or transport supplies to the farms if you are driving.

Route 9 South to 91 South
Take 91-South to 95-North towards New London (a Left Exit)
Take Exit 57 and turn right onto Route 1 from ramp
Travel approximately 0.5 miles on Route 1
Bishops Orchard will be on your left with a big apple in front (meet in main parking lot)

Brown Tobacco Farm
Windsor, CT

Take I-91 North to Exit 40 for the airport
Take the exit for Route 75 (you will see a Ramada Inn on the right)
At the end of the exit ramp, take a left At the 2nd light, take a sharp right
The farm is on the left
To get to the barracks, continue past the white tents and turn left onto a gravel road
Follow the gravel road past the tents and a barn to the end
Clinic will be set up in the cafeteria which is the left side of the barracks

Casertano Farm
1030 South Meriden Rd., Cheshire, CT

Take I-84 West towards Waterbury
Take Exit 29 to Milldale for 7 miles
Bear right on South Main Street
Bear left at Norton Street for .5 miles
Turn left on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike for 1 mile
Turn right at South End Rd. for 1 mile
Continue on Cheshire Street for 1.7 miles
Bear right onto South Meriden Rd.

Dondero Orchards
South Glastonbury, CT

Take I-84 East to Exit 55 for Route 2 East
Take Exit 7 (left lane exit only) for Route 17 South
Stay on Route 17 South for 3.5 miles
Take a left onto Hopewell Road (there is a restaurant on the corner called Main & Hopewell)
Continue on Hopewell for 2 miles
Take a right onto Woodland Street
The farm is 1 mile up the road to the left

Enfield Shade
Enfield, CT

Take I-91 North to Exit 48 for Elm Street/Route 220
Take a right onto Elm Street
After about 1.5 miles, take a right onto Moody Road
The farm will be a little over mile on the right.
Enter at road between the fence opening
The clinic will be set up in back of the greenhouses on the left

Freund Farm
324 Norfolk Road, Route 44 (East Canaan)

Take Route 4 West
Turn right onto Route 10 until junction of 10 and 44
Take left onto Route 44 and follow for about 25 miles

Imperial Nurseries
Granby, CT

Travel time: 45 min

Option #1: Take I-91 North to Exit 40 Stay on Route 20 West (will need to get off the expressway before you get to the airport) for about 8 miles
At the junction for Routes 10/202 take a left
Go about 2 miles and take a left onto Floydville Road
The nursery entrance is a 1/4 mile down the road on the right Imperial Nurseries

Option #2: From UConn take a right onto Farmington Avenue
Take a left onto Talcott Notch Road and follow it to the end
Take a right onto Route 10 Cross Route 44 and follow this road to the end
Take a left and go over the bridge to the stop light
Take a right onto Route 10/202
Follow Route 10/202 through Simsbury and into Granby
Once you get into Granby, look for Floydville road on the right (if you’ve reached the intersection for Route 20, you’ve overshot by about 2 miles)
Go about a 1/4 mile and the nursery entrance is on the right

Jarmoc Tobacco
Enfield, CT

Take I-91 North to Exit 47E for Route 190 East
Go 9 stoplights on 190 East
At the Valero gas station (on the left) take a right onto South Maple
Follow this street over a one-lane bridge and bear to the right (there’s a small dirt parking lot on the left).
Go up the hill until you get to a stop sign (about 1 mile). At the stop sign, bear right onto Abbe Road.
The farmhouse is after the 3rd street on the left #151 (yellow building)

Lyman Orchards
Middlefield, CT

Take Route 9 South to Exit 20S for I-91 South
Take I-91 South to Exit 15
Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Route 68
Follow Route 68 for about 3 miles
Turn left on Route 157N (may be difficult to see the sign for Route 157)
Go about 2 miles until you see the sign for Lyman Orchards on the left
Take a left into the farm and the barracks will be on the right

Travel Time : 40 minutes
Take 91 north. Take the Rt 5 exit off of 91N (#44).
Take right at end of exit.ramp and go 4-5miles.
Take a L on Sullivan ave.
Go ½ mile and take a Left onto Rye Street
Travel 3-4 miles on Rye Street
Plantation Rd on right Markowski is on the right 42 Plantation Rd

Mulnite
28 Miller Road, Broad Brook (East Windsor)

Travel time: 45 min
Option #1: Take I-91 North to Exit 45
Take a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 140 East
Follow 140 East for several miles and take a right onto Route 191 South
Follow 191 South into the center of town.
When you see a sign to take a right to follow 191 South, continue going straight
At the top of the hill you’ll see a 3-way stop sign and a church diagonally from you
Veer left and follow that road to the end (about 3 miles)
Take a right onto Wapping Road
Follow Wapping Rd for about 1/2 a mile until you reach a fork in the road
Stay on Wapping road even though the sign for Mulnite will point to the left
The barracks are a 1/4 mile down the road on the left accessible by a dirt driveway

Plant Group
117 Pond Rd. (North Franklin)

Travel time: 1 hour
Take I-84 East to Exit 55 for Route 2 East
Take Exit 27 for Route 32 North Stay on Route 32 for 2.5 miles
Turn Right onto Baltic Rd. for 2.1 miles
Take a slight left onto Pond Rd.

Rose’s Berry Farm
295 Matson Hill, South Glastonbury

Travel time: 40 min
Take I-84 East to Exit 55 for Route 2 East
Take Exit 7 (left lane exit only) for Route 17 South
Stay on Route 17 South for 3.5 miles
Take a left onto Hopewell Road (there is a restaurant on the corner called Main & Hopewell)
Continue on Hopewell for 1.25 miles and bear right at the fork onto Matson Hill Road
The farm is .75 miles up the hill on the left
The clinic will be set up down the hill near the farm stand

Thrall Tobacco Farm
Windsor, CT

Travel time: 40 min
Take I-91 North to Exit 39 At the end of the exit ramp, take a left
At the 2nd light, turn left onto River Street
Take an immediate right onto a gravel road past the tobacco shed
Continue left on the gravel road past the barracks
The cafeteria will be on the right at the end of the road where you’ll find the clinic

Kurt Weiss Greenhouse
Cheshire, CT

Take 84-West to 691 East (towards Meriden)
Take Exit 3 (the CT-10 Exit)
Turn Right off ramp onto CT-10/Highland Ave; travel only 0.2 miles and then
Turn Left onto E Johnson Ave to #301 (Meet in green office building)

Windham Even Start
322 Prospect St, Willimantic

Travel time: 1 hr
Take I-84 East to Exit 59 onto I-384 East (toward Providence)
Take I-384 East 8.5 miles all the way to the end
Bear RIGHT at end to follow US-6 East – go 13.9 miles
When US-6 bears left, continue going straight onto Route 66
Follow Route 66 to end which is a light
At that light you should see a Stop and Shop across the street
Turn RIGHT Follow this road until you see a Dairy Queen on your Left
Turn LEFT at this street Follow this road until it intersects with Prospect Street
Turn RIGHT onto Prospect Street
Windham Even Start will be on your Right shortly
(Landmarks that you’ve arrived: It is a large brick building that used to be a school; has a flag pole in front and a building next door with large letters GYMNASIUM)

Woodbridge Farm
30 Woodbridge Rd. (Salem)

Travel Time: 45 minutes
Take I-84 East to Exit 55 for Route 2 East
Stay right and take Exit 19 to Route 11 South
Stay on Route 11 for 7 miles an take Exit 4 (Route 82 toward Salem)
Turn right onto East Haddam Rd. (Route 82)
Turn Right onto Woodbridge Rd.
