Faculty - Ph.D. in Public Health

Dr. Ann Ferris, Co-Director of the Center for Public Health and Health Policy, will provide administrative and programmatic leadership for the Ph.D. program. 

  • Concentration in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences

    Dr. Susan Reisine, Professor and Chair of the Division of Behavioral Sciences and Community Health, Department of Oral Health and Diagnostic Sciences and Associate Dean for Research in the School of Dental Medicine at the UConn Health Center, will serve as the designated chair of the Social and Behavioral Health concentration. In addition, 24 faculty members from the Storrs and Health Center campuses have committed to participate in the Social and Behavioral Health concentration for the Ph.D. program in Public Health to advise, mentor, and provide resources and office space for doctoral students. 

  • Concentration in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences

    Dr. Lawrence Silbart and Dr. Nicholas Warren will serve as the designated co-chairs of the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences concentration.  Lawrence Silbart, Ph.D., MPH, is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, and also serves as Director of the Center for Environmental Health.  Nicholas Warren, Sc.D., is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the Ergonomics Coordinator at the Ergonomic Technology Center of Connecticut.  In addition, over 20 faculty members from the Storrs and Health Center campuses have indicated their willingness to participate in the Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences concentration for the Ph.D. program in Public Health to advise, mentor, and provide resources and office space for doctoral students.
